AL-INVEST Verde Moda Sostenible concludes its journey driving the transformation of the fashion sector

·        AL-INVEST Verde Sustainable Fashion, a project co-funded by the European Union under the AL-INVEST Verde programme, enters its final phase this month after 26 months of work dedicated to advancing the sustainable transition of the fashion sector in Peru and Colombia.

·        The project is now entering its final stage, marked by B2B meetings between beneficiary companies and key market stakeholders, having already surpassed several of its main impact indicators.

Brussels, 25 May 2026. After 26 months of work advancing sustainability, competitiveness and internationalisation in the fashion sector in Peru and Colombia, AL-INVEST Verde Moda Sostenible is entering its final phase with the organization of B2B meetings between beneficiary companies and strategic market stakeholders, a stage aimed at consolidating commercial partnerships and creating new business opportunities, internationalization and valuable connections for participating companies.

With a total budget of €372,424.72, the project has worked to strengthen the competitiveness, sustainability and internationalisation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the textile and fashion ecosystem, promoting the adoption of sustainable practices, business capacity-building and access to new market opportunities.

Implemented in Peru and Colombia, specifically in Lima and Ica, as well as Bogotá and 59 municipalities in the department of Cundinamarca, the project has brought together key sector stakeholders to accelerate the transition towards more responsible, circular and innovative business models.

As of April 2026, the project has already achieved significant results reflecting its impact on the sector:

·        474 SMEs trained in sustainable fashion, significantly exceeding the initial target of 330 companies.

·        300 SMEs trained in certifications and business capacity-building.

·        24 companies reporting resource savings, also surpassing the original target.

These indicators continue to evolve, and final project results are expected to grow further once this last implementation phase concludes.

Beyond the quantitative results, AL-INVEST Verde Moda Sostenible leaves behind a roadmap for advancing a more sustainable, competitive and internationally resilient fashion industry. Among its key achievements is the development of a Guide to good practices for sustainability in the fashion sector, designed as a practical tool to support companies in adopting more responsible, circular and innovative business models.

The project demonstrates the potential of international cooperation to accelerate the green transformation of the textile sector, supporting businesses in adopting production and business models aligned with the principles of sustainability, circular economy and innovation.

The project is led by the Finnova Foundation (Spain), the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (Colombia), and the Sustainable Fashion Cluster of Peru, with the support of academic and governmental institutions working together to promote a more circular, competitive and environmentally responsible fashion industry.
