The Designscapes project call offers up to 25.000€ for design-enabled innovation prototypes for urban environments

Candidates may submit their applications until 31 July in this second phase of Designscapes. The next stage welcomes all candidates, including those who have and haven’t applied before.

DESIGNSCAPES (Building Capacity for Design enabled Innovation in Urban Environments) is a H2020 project approved under the topic CO-CREATION-02-2016 – User-driven innovation: value creation through design-enabled innovation. The overarching aim of the DESIGNSCAPES project is to exploit the generative potential of urban environments in the highest possible number of European Cities to encourage the uptake and further enhancement and up scaling of Design enabled Innovations by existing enterprises, start-up companies, public authorities and agencies, and other urban stakeholders.

The call seeks innovative solutions to help meet the challenges of the urban context: The best innovations in this case will be design, user-centred, integrated into an urban environment, practical and easy to understand. The call is addressed to anyone willing to solve challenges related to urbanization, but more specifically to designers and creative entrepreneurs. Both existing and completely new ideas and solutions can be introduced.

The call is divided into three phases; this second phase is accessible to all candidates, including those who have applied and those who have not applied before. The phases are completely independent of each other, which means that applicants can decide to participate in any of these stages, but being successful in one of them does not create any advantage for the following rounds. The second phase will be open until 31 July. In the third phase, which will be open from 1 August to 29 November 2019, projects will be sought that demonstrate their capacity to expand and exit from an initial state, prototype or commercial.
