CILIFO is focused on the prevention and extinction of wildfires and is part of POCTEP 2014-2020

Brussels, 18/06/2019-. The Presentation of the Project Iberian Center for Forest Fire Research and Control, known as CILIFO, will take place tomorrow, 19. June, at 12:30 a.m in the graduate school hall from the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the campus El Carmen, at the University of Huelva (Spain).

CILIFO is focused on the prevention and extinction of wildfires and is part of the Cooperation Programme Interreg VA Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2014-2020. This Center will announce as well the creation and launch of their vertical incubator/accelerator. It will generate a network of antenna in all Europe, which will support entrepreneurship in fire-fighting operations and regeneration of burned spaces. One of the initiatives from the accelerator is the call for LIFE pre-proposals 2019, the EU financial instrument. The accelerator will identify the most disruptive solutions to the fire-fighting challenges and their effects on climate change.

CILIFO has a budget of 25 million euros. Of which 1 million is managed by the Finnova Foundation for the accelerator.
