The project objects project aims to address the EU’s skills shortage in the renewable energy sector, which has the potential to create 38 million jobs by 2030, and 43 million by 2050. To do so, it will create a set of educational programs and tools that will provide inclusive opportunities for all learners to develop skills in renewable energy systems, fuel technologies and sustainability.  Finnova will be responsible for the communication, dissemination and exploitation activities of the European project.

RES4CITY aims to ensure that education systems are at the heart of the ecological transition. The team will co-design a set of micro-master programs aimed at Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) graduates and non-STEM graduates, as well as professionals wishing to retrain in a wide variety of sectors and career paths. These Micro Masters will respond to the needs and priorities of businesses, public institutions and citizens.

The project focuses on urban contexts, as most of the EU population is concentrated in cities, where the consumption of resources has been steadily increasing. By addressing knowledge,

attitudes and skills, RES4CITY researchers hope to empower society to seize new opportunities and meet the challenges of a constantly evolving digital world.
