Brussels, September 9, 2025 — As part of the Sembrando Iniciativa project, the Finnova Foundation will hold the in-person workshop “Entrepreneurship and Social Economy: Challenges in Managing Chronic Pain and Vulnerability in Women” on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at the University of Santiago de Compostela, in collaboration with the Brain and Pain Laboratory of the USC Faculty of Psychology. It is funded by the Comprehensive Plan to Boost the Social Economy 2024–2025, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, with the support of NextGenerationEU funds.
Connecting Ideas, People, and Synergies in Social Economy
The workshop is part of the Sembrando Iniciativa project, led by Finnova Foundation, which aims to promote entrepreneurship and the labor inclusion of women, particularly migrant women or those in vulnerable situations.
This training seeks to create synergies between people and projects, strengthen professional skills, and showcase best practices in the field of social economy.

• Institutional Opening
Project presentation by the University of Santiago de Compostela, Xunta de Galicia, and Finnova Foundation, highlighting the focus on women, entrepreneurship, social innovation, and health.
• Impact of Chronic Pain and Social Vulnerability
Specialized presentations analyzing how chronic pain affects women’s employability and quality of life. This segment will include personal testimonies and contributions from local social organizations.
• Psychosocial Tools and Labor Inclusion
Practical sessions on individual empowerment, guidance, and methodologies for developing social innovation and health-related projects. The sessions will cover career planning strategies, lifelong training programs, European funding opportunities, and the creation of collaborative networks.
• Self-Awareness and Co-Creation Workshops
Participants will apply the knowledge acquired during the workshop to foster social innovation, inclusion, and sustainability. Both individual and group work will be encouraged to generate synergies between ideas and participants.
Institutional Closing and Network Consolidation
The event will conclude with closing remarks by the City Council of Santiago, the Xunta de Galicia, the University of Santiago de Compostela, and the Finnova Foundation, summarizing key takeaways and defining next steps to strengthen the collaborative networks created during the workshop.
