Valencia, October 29, 2025. The city of Cáceres is preparing for two key days in the entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem with the celebration of the Cáceres Business Market together with the International Congress of Silver Economy, which will take place on October 30 and 31 at the San Francisco Cultural Complex. The event pursues the goal of positioning Cáceres on the world map of seed capital startups, bringing together more than 10 countries, 50 investors, 100 startups and 30 expert speakers.
The International Silver Economy Congress will focus on discussing population ageing and its socio-economic implications, seeking to detect business opportunities in areas such as health, housing, senior work, and digitalisation to promote active and healthy ageing.
Some of the international investment and innovation leaders who will attend this event are:
- Luis Castillo (President of the Silver Economy Malaga Hub)
- Nuria Domínguez (Chairman SilverWorld)
- Juan Manuel Revuelta (CEO of the Finnova Foundation)
- Laura Suárez (President of Jaguars Startups and CEO Talent Hub) – Colombia
- Erik Díaz (Blackshipp Ventures and Cluster MadFintech) – Chile
- Fabia Silva (MIT Spain) – Brazil
The European project Interreg Sudoe RuralSilverHubS will be present at the event, with the aim of promoting the Silver Economy as a driver of sustainable development in rural areas of southwest Europe.
The RuralSilverHubS schedule at the Cáceres Business Market is as follows:
- Thursday, October 30th: presentation of the project by Mr. Antonio Calero and Ms. Sandra Suárez, Economic Promotion and Employment Unit of the Tarragona Provincial Council and technicians of the RuralSilverHubS project at 4:45 p.m.
- Friday, October 31st: Intervention by Juan Manuel Revuelta, CEO of Finnova and head of communication of the project, who will share the European vision of the project and its contribution to the Silver Economy in the Sudoe region at 11.30 a.m. in a panel discussion on “Silver Economy: Consumption and new adapted markets” accompanied by Salvador Molina, President of the ECOFIN Forum.
The Interreg Sudoe RuralSilverHubS project, with a budget of more than 1.26 million euros co-financed with 948,272.81 euros by FEDER, seeks to respond to both the problems arising from ageing and the depopulation that affects rural areas and, above all, to the limitation of access to services. Thus, the project’s strategy focuses on the population over 55 years of age, the Silver Population, as an agent focused on territorial transformation.
Its main achievements are the creation of:
- Social and Digital Innovation Laboratories in Depopulated Rural Environments (RS-Labs): Spaces where synergies and business actions are promoted in depopulated rural environments.
- Observatory of the Silver Rural Economy (RSE). This is responsible for collecting specific data on the regions of Spain (Tarragona and Burgos), France (Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie) and Portugal (Algarve and the North AVE region).
From the proposal of RuralSilverHubS, the mission of consolidating rural communities that are more inclusive, resilient and sustainable is sustained, putting the Silver Economy as a good opportunity for growth and social cohesion. In turn, this congress highlights the cooperation between Europe and Latin America in the shared path of promoting a model of life that is healthy, innovative and connected to the territory.
