Participation in the session “Navigating Emerging Contaminants & Regulatory Landscapes”
Juanma Revuelta, CEO of the Finnova Foundation and partner of the European ONE-BLUE consortium, represented the project at WEX Global 2026, held in Seville from 9 to 11 February 2026, under the title “Water, Energy and Climate Change: From Vision to Action – Realising a World of Water Abundance”.
WEX Global 2026 takes place at ILUNION Alcora Sevilla and combines a conference programme with in-person meetings and networking activities. According to the organisers, the event brought together more than 90 speakers and attendees from more than 45 countries, with a focus on the interconnections between water, energy and climate change, as well as on the circular economy and digital transformation.
As part of the programme, Juanma Revuelta represented ONE-BLUE in the session “Navigating Emerging Contaminants & Regulatory Landscapes”, focused on emerging contaminants and on the evolution of regulatory frameworks and operational approaches for their monitoring and management.
ONE-BLUE’s participation in this context relates to contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) in marine ecosystems and their interaction with climate change drivers. ONE-BLUE is an EU-funded project conducting case studies in the Atlantic, the Arctic and the Mediterranean, and developing tools and methodologies to improve knowledge of the concentrations and effects of these contaminants.
