Brussels, April 20, 2026. – Amid profound changes in the architecture of international cooperation, the Finnova Foundation, through the AL-INVEST Verde Café Sostenible project (co-funded by the European Union), is organizing “Workshop II: Trends in international cooperation and European financing for sustainable development and circularity”. This strategic and 100% in-person event will take place next Thursday, April 23, within the framework of the prestigious Circular Economy Summit.

The three-hour event is designed for institutions, SMEs, chambers of commerce, NGOs, and local governments to understand where cooperation is heading and how to position themselves regarding the new investment priorities shaping the relationship between the European Union and Latin America. Going beyond merely presenting open calls for proposals, the workshop will offer an applied vision on how to structure proposals that meet the standards of the European Green Deal and the Global Gateway strategy.

An international panel of experts and a practical approach

The workshop will be moderated by Michel Lapierre Robles, LATAM Director at the Finnova Foundation and an expert with over 17 years of experience. He will also analyze global funding changes, how to adapt to new demands, and the technical keys for preparing a successful European project.

The agenda will feature key stakeholders from the cooperation and innovation ecosystem:

  • Santiago Castilla Parra (Conecta Iberoamérica), who will explore the opportunities, risks, and ethical limits of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to European project management.
  • Byron Maza (Universidad Regional Amazónica – IKIAM) and César Pomar (Smart Investment Fund – SIF), who will share success stories and lessons learned in academic and business projects focused on sustainability and circularity.
