Finnova opens agenda at Greencities 2025 with its own stand, international presence and participation in key forums

The Foundation welcomes the institutional delegation of Ibagué and Tolima (Colombia) and strengthens its role in the start-up evaluation committee and the moderation of sectoral debates.

Brussels, 30 September 2025. Greencities 2025, Spain’s leading event on urban sustainability and smart cities, will open its doors tomorrow, Wednesday 1 October, at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA). The Finnova Foundation will participate in this new edition with a prominent role, combining institutional presence, international cooperation and support for entrepreneurial innovation.

Visitors will be able to meet Finnova at stand P25, a meeting point to learn first-hand about European funding opportunities, as well as to forge alliances in the fields of energy transition, digitalisation and the circular economy.

As part of its commitment to Euro-Latin American cooperation, Finnova has invited the institutional delegation of Ibagué and Tolima (Colombia) to the event. Led by Milton Restrepo, this mission seeks to strengthen ties with Europe around sustainability, water management and the valorisation of agricultural by-products such as rice. In addition, it will present the upcoming Glocal Summit on Circular Economy, to be held in Ibagué from 21 to 23 April 2026, alongside the StartUp Europe Awards (SEUA). The mission will also explore synergies in European programmes such as AL-INVEST Verde and Erasmus+, fostering green transition projects and educational cooperation.

Finnova’s CEO, Juan Manuel Revuelta, will also play a key role in Greencities’ official programme. On Wednesday 1 October, from 17:45 to 18:30, he will moderate the panel “DIH Agrotech Forum: Smart Territories” at the Sustainability Arena, a space for reflection on the new challenges of the agri-food sector in the digital and sustainable era. He will also join the start-up evaluation committee in the session “Elevator Pitch: Open Call for Start-ups”, taking place the same day from 16:25 to 17:10 at the S-Moving Arena.

Finnova’s agenda also includes networking activities linked to European projects such as RESSKILL, RES4CITY and C-SUSTAIN, further strengthening its role as a bridge between innovation, public administrations and EU funding opportunities.

With this participation, Finnova reaffirms its commitment to promoting innovative ecosystems that accelerate the transition towards more sustainable, smart and cohesive cities, both in Europe and Latin America.
