Brussels, 23 July 2025. The Finnova Foundation will hold a new online training session on Thursday, 31 July, from 16:00 to 18:00 (CEST), entitled Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Social Economy: Circular and Textile Economy. This session is part of the Sembrando Iniciativa project, which is aimed at women in vulnerable situations, migrants with university education, and those interested in redirecting their professional path towards entrepreneurship with social impact. The activity is included in the training cycle Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Social Economy, made up of five sessions that provide practical knowledge, guidance, and tools to promote entrepreneurial initiatives with a sustainability and inclusion perspective.
This initiative is part of the national project Sembrando Iniciativa, funded by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan through the European Union’s NextGenerationEU funds, within the framework of the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE) for the Social and Care Economy.
Its goal is to strengthen female entrepreneurship and foster the creation of a more equitable, resilient, and socially committed economic fabric, by highlighting best practices and promoting equal opportunities.
A session to inspire, connect, and transform realities
The event will bring together experts, institutional representatives, and women entrepreneurs with the aim of promoting female leadership, strengthening the social economy, and encouraging the active integration of migrant women into the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The online session will be led by Pilar de Llamas, a specialist in Textiles and Social Innovation, who will explore the opportunities offered by the circular economy as a driver of self-employment, social transformation, and sustainability, with a specific focus on the textile sector.
Throughout the workshop, participants will explore sustainable business models that are already creating impact in their communities, learn about real-life entrepreneurial experiences led by women, and gain access to practical tools to shape, boost, or strengthen their own socially-driven projects. The training will also include an up-to-date guide to available funding sources, both at national and European level, as well as specific support programmes offered by regional governments and public entities that back initiatives with a sustainability and inclusion perspective.
In addition, the session will include applied content in key areas for any social entrepreneur today: digital marketing strategies tailored to purpose-driven projects, access to second-chance legal mechanisms for individuals facing over-indebtedness, and essential principles of the circular economy to help integrate ecological values into the business value proposition. All topics will be addressed from a practical, inclusive, and transformative perspective, placing the power of female entrepreneurship at the heart of real social and economic change.
