Every year on August 12, the world celebrates International Youth Day, a date established by the United Nations to recognize the essential role young people play in driving social, economic, and environmental change. This day aims to highlight the challenges faced by youth and the urgent need to invest in their education, participation, and meaningful inclusion in decision-making processes.
In line with these values, the European project C-SUSTAIN, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, is an innovative initiative focused on empowering youth through sustainable entrepreneurship. With a 24-month implementation period, the project equips young people from multicultural backgrounds with the tools to lead the green and digital transition with an inclusive, critical, and transformative approach.
Training for an inclusive and resilient Europe
Throughout the project, C-SUSTAIN delivers specialised training in entrepreneurship and circular economy, adapted to today’s challenges. This approach promotes autonomy, creativity, and civic engagement, and is aligned with key European reference frameworks:
- EntreComp (European Entrepreneurship Competence Framework)
- GreenComp (European Sustainability Competence Framework)
- Life-Long Learning
The project specifically targets young people from various social and cultural backgrounds, fostering equal opportunities, territorial cohesion, and access to transformative learning experiences.
A European network connecting innovation, youth, and sustainability
More than a partnership, C-SUSTAIN builds a collaborative international network combining experience and commitment to transformative education. The consortium brings together 6 organisations from 5 European countries, all leaders in sustainability, youth development, educational innovation, and social entrepreneurship:
- 🇦🇹 BildungsLAB – Hands&Minds Learning Center (Austria)
- 🇬🇷 CRADLE SINGLE (Greece)
- 🇵🇱 Fundacja Instytut Europejski (Poland)
- 🇩🇪 Förderung der Individualität von Jugend in Europa (EUth) (Germany)
- 🇮🇪 Roscommon Integrated Development Company (Ireland)
- 🇪🇸 Fundación Finnova (Spain)
With a total budget of €250,000, C-SUSTAIN develops innovative digital resources, adapted educational content, and practical tools that help replicate its methodology across various European communities.
Youth leading the way toward a more just and sustainable Europe
In the face of global challenges such as climate change, digital transformation, and social exclusion, youth are not just a vulnerable group—they are essential agents of change. C-SUSTAIN embraces this vision by promoting an educational model that empowers young people as key actors in shaping a greener, more inclusive, and resilient Europe.
The project goes beyond training professionals—it cultivates socially committed youth leadership, ready to implement circular, sustainable economic models in their communities.
On this International Youth Day, C-SUSTAIN renews its mission: to contribute to a Europe where young people have the tools, recognition, and space to shape their future through entrepreneurship, sustainability, and collective action.
