Brussels, 09/08/2025. Next Wednesday, September 10, at 10:00 a.m. in Chile and at 3:00 p.m. in mainland Spain, the online presentation of the Startup Europe AwardsSustainable Fruit will be held, a free event featuring representatives from Fedefruta and the Finnova Foundation.

Los Startup Europe Awards Sustainable Fruit are part of the AL-INVEST Verde, program, funded by the European Union within the framework of the Global Gateway strategy, which aims to promote sustainable growth and job creation in Latin America. In this context, the initiative seeks to support more than 150 Chilean fruit SMEs in their transition towards more innovative, circular, and sustainable production models. It is a program designed to promote responsible practices in production and logistics, encourage digitalization and traceability in processes, open new opportunities in international markets, reduce the carbon footprint, and advance towards more efficient use of resources.

The registration period for the awards has been extended until September 22, 2025, in order to provide more time for entrepreneurs, startups, and SMEs in the Chilean fruit sector who wish to submit their proposals and participate in this international call.

The five selected initiatives will receive a comprehensive support package that includes personalized mentoring with the Startup Europe Accelerator, access to an online course on European funds valued at 400 euros, and extensive visibility on Finnova’s communication channels, as well as through networks of institutional partners and at international events. These recognitions aim to strengthen the winning projects and project them into new markets, contributing to the development of a more competitive and sustainable fruit sector.

The Sustainable Fruit project is developed within the framework of the AL-INVEST Verde program, which promotes the transition of Latin American SMEs towards a low-carbon economy, more efficient use of resources, and full integration into the principles of the circular economy. With this initiative, the European Union reinforces its commitment to sustainable development and innovation, supporting the connection between Chile and Europe in the field of fruit production.

Participation in the event is open and free. Interested parties can register through the official form available at the link and join the live webinar via Zoom.
