The European project will host two online events in February 2026 to refine its MOOCs in 5G, IoT, digital manufacturing and artificial intelligence
On the occasion of the International Day of Education, the initiative reinforces its commitment to training aligned with real industry needs
Brussels, Saturday, 24 January 2026. The European project 5G-DiGITs, funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, is advancing the development of its continuous education programmes through the organisation of two Industry Feedback Events in February 2026. These online sessions will allow companies and professionals to actively contribute to the improvement of the courses prior to their final release.
The announcement coincides with the celebration of the International Day of Education, promoted by UNESCO every 24 January, a date that highlights the role of education as a driver of development, innovation and social cohesion. In this context, 5G-DiGITs underlines the importance of designing training programmes that are closely connected to labour market realities and the challenges of the green and digital transitions.
The events are part of Work Package 3 (WP3) of the project, which focuses on the design, piloting and evaluation of innovative continuous education programmes in key technological domains. The courses cover four strategic areas: Sustainable 5G, Green IoT, Digital Manufacturing and Native AI.
During the sessions, the training syllabi and the MOOCs already developed—currently available on the 5G-DiGITs Moodle campus—will be presented. The objective is to gather practical feedback to fine-tune the content, approach and applicability of the courses in line with real European labour market needs.
The validation process foresees at least two rounds of digital pilot testing, involving a minimum of five companies per round, ensuring the quality, relevance and effectiveness of the programmes.
The first block of sessions (Event 3.1) will take place from 2 to 5 February 2026, followed by a second round (Event 3.2) from 16 to 19 February 2026, both held online. The sessions will be coordinated by Inercia Digital, a European centre of excellence in digital vocational education and training, represented by Francisco Javier García Gómez, European Projects Coordinator.
5G-DiGITs is a three-year project with a total budget of €1,745,421, aiming to strengthen advanced digital skills in higher education and vocational training through innovative methodologies based on 5G technologies.
The consortium is led by Envolve Entrepreneurship (Greece) and includes INFOLYSiS, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, CNC Solutions, A8, F6S, FINNOVA, Inercia Digital, Universitat Politècnica de València, Karlstads universitet and Technische Universität Chemnitz, among other European partners.
