Valencia, 20 February 2026. The European Erasmus+ project C-SUSTAIN (Circular & Sustainable Training for Youth Entrepreneurs) has successfully held an international makeathon that brought together approximately 70 participants from different European countries, reinforcing the project’s commitment to youth innovation and the circular economy.
During the session, young participants worked in seven breakout rooms organised around different sustainability-related challenges. Among the topics addressed were plastic waste management, packaging reduction, and other issues linked to resource efficiency and circular business models.
The makeathon was led by Dave Kock, President of EUth (Förderung der Individualität von Jugend in Europa), who facilitated the session and supported the teams in developing viable solutions and startup concepts inspired by circular economy principles. The event followed a practical and collaborative methodology, fostering teamwork, creativity, and the use of innovative tools to transform ideas into structured proposals with environmental and social impact.
This event is part of a series of makeathons organised within the framework of the C-SUSTAIN project, which aims to equip young people with entrepreneurial and sustainability competences aligned with the European frameworks GreenComp and EntreComp. The next makeathon will take place on the 25th, and the project invites young people, educators, and professionals to join this new collaborative innovation session.
