Finnova Foundation attended from 10 to 14 June the last meeting of the partners of the Smart and Digital Agriculture (SDA) project, which promotes employability among young people in agriculture and development of rural areas. In this last meeting, organized by the Provincial Directorate of National Education of Eskişehir, the project partners presented the results of the project, reviewed and analysed the work done during the two years of the project and planned future actions to give continuity and scalability to the results of the SDA.
Juan Viesca, director of European funds, Patricia Tejada and Alejandro Gutiérrez de Turán, European project managers of the Finnova Foundation, presented a report related to youth and agriculture, which includes the main challenges faced by the sector mainly in the countries of the SDA consortium and solutions to promote employability among young people and the development of rural areas.
During their stay in the country, they also took the opportunity to attend various meetings related to the project. Thus, they participated in the International Congress of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants organized by the project itself, an event attended by representatives of the cosmetics sector and public authorities, and in which the results of the SDA project were presented publicly. The congress was held at Anadolu University, which allowed contact to be established with university professors to discuss the possibilities of scalability of the SDA and possible collaborations for future projects.
Finnova also had the opportunity to meet with representatives of Eskişehir Osmangazi University to learn about the Women and Girls Safe Space project, a strategy developed for the protection and empowerment of women and girls affected by humanitarian crises. The visit also provided an opportunity to learn about other initiatives focused on sustainable agriculture.
The Finnova team also visited the facilities of the Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry of Sarıkaya District, being received by the mayor of the municipality. Finally, a meeting was held at the Provincial Education Directorate of Eskişehir to establish the last tasks to be carried out before the end of the project in August and to plan future initiatives.

Our participation in the SDA project demonstrates the commitment and good work of the Foundation in projects that are committed to innovation in agriculture, a key area to promote digitization and environmental protection, and the integration of young people into the labor market. The results of the project show the success of this joint initiative and work will continue on the ground to exploit the results of this project for future ideas. The consortium was satisfied with the work of the Foundation during the project, which shows the responsibility with which the Foundation acts and the efficiency of its activities.
