  • The program aims to educate youth on European affairs and promote greater awareness and action towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • The youth have visited institutions such as the Permanent Representation of Spain to the EU and the European Parliament.

14/10/2024, Brussels. Finnova Foundation accompanied a group of young participants from Benaguasil participants in the YEPIC program last week. This program, funded by Erasmus+ through INJUVE, aims to educate youth on European affairs and foster greater awareness and action towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This visit is part of the YEPIC program activities, allowing these young people to learn about European institutions.

We accompanied this group on October 9 to the Permanent Representation of Spain to the EU. María Ángeles Muñoz, Counselor for Education, Youth, Culture, and Sports, gave an informative talk highlighting the Representation’s role in defending Spain’s interests and coordinating key negotiations to ensure EU policies reflect national needs. Another highlight was the focus on the Erasmus+ program, described by Muñoz as “the program that has done the most for Europe.” This program plays a crucial role in the education and mobility of European youth, providing thousands of students with international experiences.

Exploring opportunities at the European Parliament

The next day, they visited the European Parliament, where they attended a session on the hemicycle. This session provided participants with a clear insight into the Parliament’s basic functions and the political groups within it, helping them understand the European legislative process.

Following this, members of the Finnova Foundation team presented them with various scholarships and opportunities that these young people can apply for in the future to further their education in the heart of Europe. They also presented various projects that the Foundation is involved in and that receive funding from the Erasmus+ program, such as SETOFF, LivAI, and MANUFACTURING4ALL. This allowed the youth to broaden their horizons regarding the diverse applications of this program, which is well-known for enabling youth mobility across Europe but also funds projects like those mentioned.

Finnova expresses sincere gratitude to the Permanent Representation of Spain for their hospitality and for allowing these young people to firsthand experience the daily work in Brussels. Such initiatives are essential for empowering youth and encouraging their active participation in European affairs. Finnova remains committed to promoting educational and professional opportunities for young people, helping them explore and maximize the possibilities offered by the European Union.
