28/10/2024, Brussels. On 21 and 22 October, the Finnova Foundation attended the International Ibero-American Startups Congress held in Medellin (Colombia). This space has served to host more than 100 speakers and leaders of the Colombian and international entrepreneurial ecosystems, favoring connections and alliances for the present and future of the participants. The Finnova Foundation, through Juanma Revuelta, CEO of the Foundation, attended this congress to present our lines of action in the field of textiles and sustainable tourism.
On the first day of the Congress, Revuelta participated in the round table ‘Sustainability, Tourism and Innovation: Key Business Development Models’, bringing the FU-TOURISM project to this space. Revuelta highlighted this initiative as an innovative project that will empower tourism SMEs to improve their sustainability, resilience and innovation, providing them with access to support networks, funding opportunities and expertise.
On the second day, Finnova explained its initiatives related to sustainable fashion at the round table ‘European funds, private investment and intrapreneurship processes for the construction of innovation ecosystems’. On the one hand, the Foundation presented the nexTEXTILEgeneration.eu initiative, which promotes and supports projects and programmes that provide innovative solutions for the textile and fashion sector, through new business models, processes or products committed to the environment.
In addition, Revuelta brought to the table the different projects that are under the umbrella of nexTEXTILEgeneration.eu and of which the Foundation is a partner. In addition to TEXTIL4ALL and CIRCOAX projects. Revuelta focused his presentation on the initiatives AL-INVEST Verde Moda Sostenible and Sustainable Fashion and Sustainability in the Fashion Sector for its Internationalisation, projects that are led by Colombian entities. AL-INVEST Verde Moda Sostenible promotes the sustainable development and internationalisation of MSMEs in the fashion sector in Peru and Colombia. The project is developed in collaboration with the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB) and the Sustainable Fashion Cluster of Peru, strengthening the fashion industry in Lima (Peru), Bogotá and 59 municipalities in the department of Cundinamarca (Colombia). Finnova has participated also in the “Sustainable Fashion and Sustainability in the Fashion Sector for its Internationalisation” initiative, financed by the European Commission within the Triangular Cooperation Programme Adelante 2. The project also has the participation of the CCB and the Fashion Cluster of Peru, promoting circularity in the fashion and textile sector.
