Finnova Foundation brings the LIFE RESSKILL and RES4CITY projects to the EUSEW 2025 Energy Fair

  • Both projects aim to improve the skills of the workforce in the field of ecological transition through educational content.
  • The Foundation was also joined by the SHERLOCK project through Three O’Clock, a partner in all three projects.

Brussels, 23/06/2025. The Finnova Foundation showcased the RES4CITY and LIFE RESSKILL projects at the Energy Fair of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2025 in Brussels (Belgium). As a partner in both projects, the Finnova Foundation organized a stand to promote these initiatives from Tuesday, June 10 to Thursday, June 12 at the Charlemagne Building of the European Commission.

Juanma Revuelta, CEO of the Foundation, Eduardo Mercado and Carmen Mena (project managers), Jon Larratxea (communications manager), and Idoia Migura (communications assistant) hosted the stand during the fair. In addition, Evdokia Bairampa, communications officer at Three O’clock (partner entity of the SHERLOCK project and the other two projects), also took part in the Brussels event to promote her project and connect with stakeholders.

At the fair, Finnova presented the RES4CITY project, an initiative funded by the European Union with €2.5 million through the Horizon Europe program. It aims to foster the development of sustainable, renewable energy and fuel technologies in urban environments by promoting sustainability and circularity, and by creating an innovative educational program. The project is currently in its final phase and participated in the fair to promote the BoostMySkills platform, which offers micro-credentials and micro-programs designed to upskill the workforce in the green transition. Other project outcomes were also disseminated, such as the RES4CITY Policy Brief (a set of recommendations prepared by project partners) and the RES4CITY Open Innovation Book (a summary of the RES4CITY Startup Europe Accelerathon competition led by Finnova).

In addition, the LIFE RESSKILL project, funded by the EU LIFE Programme, trains the workforce in the integration of renewable energy systems and the digitalization of the construction sector. In line with RES4CITY, LIFE RESSKILL seeks to achieve this goal through the promotion of educational content incorporating artificial intelligence for skills identification, micro-credentials to validate expertise, and gamification to provide an engaging learning experience. The project has a budget of over €1.5 million and a duration of 36 months. It is led by the Università degli Studi di Genova and supported by a consortium of 10 institutions and companies from across Europe.
