12/09/2024, Brussels. Finnova Foundation will organize a webinar named “ONE-BLUE DISCUSSING CHALLENGES IN THE OCEAN PROTECTION” for the ONE-BLUE project on Tuesday, October 1st, serving as a meeting point to discuss the further challenges of ocean protection. This event is part of the European Maritime Day In My Country 2024 (EMD 2024), organized by the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission to raise awareness, promote and debate European environmental maritime policy and engage the public.
The webinar will serve as a meeting point for stakeholders from the sector, such as environmental agencies, journalists, researchers, scientists, and other EU-funded projects, among others. In addition, the event will be attended by entities that have already organized events within the framework of the EMD 2024. In this way, ONE-BLUE will be able to interact directly with entities and people related to maritime affairs and establish valuable synergies that will be key to the dissemination of the importance of ocean protection and raising awareness about the impact of contaminants of emerging concerns.
Partners of the project will present the latest updates on ONE-BLUE, which are focused on the first conclusions from the sample campaigns that took place during summer on the Irish Sea and in the North Adriatic Sea. Then, initiatives aligned with EMD 2024 and environmental journalists will offer their point of view on the current challenges that ocean and environmental protection are facing in the following months. In case you want to attend our webinar, you can register here.
Finnova, committed to the care of the oceans
This webinar is the second one held by the foundation within ONE-BLUE, demonstrating our commitment to European initiatives aimed at raising public awareness about the protection of the oceans and environmental protection. The first webinar took place on June 6, under the name “ONE-BLUE: Synergies for the protection of the oceans and the marine environment”. The event aimed to present this project to stakeholders, and synergies were created with projects aligned with the European mission “Restore our waters and oceans”.
