  • The event strengthened female leadership and promoted the inclusion of migrant women in social entrepreneurship through purpose-driven communication and digital marketing.
  • The training session brought together women entrepreneurs eager to launch social projects using practical tools grounded in values-based marketing.

Valencia, 28 July 2025. On Thursday 31 July, from 16:00 to 18:00 CEST, the Finnova Foundation successfully held the second session of the online training series Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Social Economy: Marketing for Social Economy Entrepreneurs, as part of the national project Sembrando Iniciativa. The session gathered women entrepreneurs, university-educated migrants, and professionals interested in launching socially impactful projects, offering them key tools in purpose-driven digital marketing.

This initiative is part of Sembrando Iniciativa, a national project funded by Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan through the NextGenerationEU funds, within the framework of the PERTE for the Social Economy and Care Sector. The programme aims to strengthen female entrepreneurship and build a more equitable, resilient, and socially committed economic ecosystem, by promoting good practices and equal opportunities.

A Day to Inspire, Empower, and Transform

The session, led by Lola Bordás, an expert in values-based communication and marketing for the social economy, provided participants with practical tools to design authentic and sustainable communication strategies aligned with the core principles of social entrepreneurship. Key topics included building a purpose-driven brand, the strategic use of social media, and the importance of consistent and empathetic communication, especially in initiatives linked to the social and solidarity economy.

A central focus of the session was purpose-driven communication, understood as a powerful tool to convey the unique value of social impact projects. Participants learned how to define the “why” behind their initiatives, identify their core values, and craft a narrative that communicates not only what they do, but also the positive impact they create in their communities. In this context, personal branding was presented as a reflection of each entrepreneur’s ethical and transformative commitment.

Digital marketing was another key pillar of the workshop. Accessible tools and resources were introduced for those working with limited budgets, including effective use of platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp Business. The session also covered email marketing, visual content creation, and impact measurement, all from a perspective rooted in sustainability and alignment with the social values of each project.

Storytelling was highlighted as a powerful method for connecting with audiences on an emotional level. Through hands-on exercises, participants identified their key target groups and adapted their messaging for different channels, while preserving authenticity and coherence. The session emphasized the importance of aligning communication with action, as a means to build public trust and reinforce the legitimacy of social enterprises.

Beyond the technical content, the online session fostered a space of collaborative learning and collective empowerment. Women entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds, many of them migrants with university degrees seeking to redirect their careers toward social entrepreneurship, shared their experiences. This exchange encouraged the creation of support networks and highlighted cooperation as a fundamental tool for advancing sustainable projects.

Participants responded very positively to the workshop’s practical, transformative, and accessible approach. In addition to gaining tools to enhance the visibility and strategy of their initiatives, they also strengthened their motivation and confidence to move forward with a socially committed entrepreneurial mindset.

The training session underscored the role of female entrepreneurship as a driver of social and economic transformation, and the urgent need to support and make visible the projects led by women, particularly those in vulnerable situations or with migrant backgrounds. The session concluded with a collective reflection on entrepreneurship not only as a path to self-employment, but also as a strategic tool to build more just, resilient, and community-centered economies.
