The Finnova Foundation participated once again in Transfiere, the European Forum for Science, Technology, and Innovation, which took place from March 12 to 14 at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA). With our presence, Finnova strengthens its commitment to knowledge transfer, entrepreneurship, and talent acquisition.
Juanma Revuelta, General Director of the Foundation, moderated the roundtable on “Entrepreneurship and Talent Acquisition in the Field of Knowledge Transfer” on Thursday, March 13. This session featured top-level experts, including Braulio Quintana Sánchez, Manager of the EMERGE Association; Vicente Parras, Deputy Director-General of Technological Innovation of the Community of Madrid; Francisco Javier González Navarro, Director-General for Entrepreneurship Promotion and Continuing Education of the Andalusian Government; María Sanz de Galdeano Arocena, Innovation Director at Ayming; and Marc Sanderson, Director of International Economic Development for the City of Málaga. The speakers discussed talent attraction, R&D investment, and public-private collaboration as drivers of innovation, highlighting the role of deeptech, technology transfer, and connections with international innovation ecosystems. They also addressed R&D taxation and available funding programs to strengthen entrepreneurship and business development.
Additionally, Finnova had its own stand, where we showcased our initiatives related to Transfiere’s themes. Among the visitors was an institutional delegation including Francisco de la Torre Prados, Mayor of Málaga; José Carlos Gómez Villamandos, Minister of Universities, Research, and Innovation of the Andalusian Government; and Teresa Riesgo Alcaide, Secretary-General for Innovation at the Ministry of Science and Innovation and President of CDTI. They had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the projects promoted by the Foundation. This visit reaffirmed Finnova’s role in advancing European funding programs and supporting innovation.
Finnova drives key projects for sustainability and digitalization
During the fair, Finnova presented several high-impact initiatives. Among them was the FU-TOURISM programme, an accelerator funded with €4 million by the European Commission through the Single Market Programme (SMP-COSME), which supports the digitalization and sustainability of tourism SMEs.
Under the Horizon Europe framework, Finnova introduced the ONE-BLUE and RES4CITY projects, focused on marine biodiversity and urban decarbonization, with respective budgets of €6.2 million and €2.5 million. Additionally, the LIFE NextFUMIGREEN project, with a budget of €2.75 million, was presented as a sustainable biopesticide solution for agriculture. Lastly, Finnova showcased the 5G-DiGITs project, which is funded with €1.7 million to enhance professional training in 5G technologies and accelerate the digital and green transition.
The Foundation also used this opportunity to highlight various European funding programs, including the Interreg NEXT MED programme, which has a budget of €83.7 million to finance solutions in energy efficiency, circular economy, and SME decarbonization across the Mediterranean.
Finnova’s participation in Transfiere 2025 has strengthened its role as a key organization in promoting innovation and knowledge transfer in Europe. Through its stand, roundtable discussions, and strategic project presentations, Finnova has facilitated the creation of new alliances and opportunities for the entrepreneurial, technological, and tourism ecosystems. With this edition of Transfiere, Finnova reaffirms its commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship, contributing to a more sustainable, digital, and globally competitive Europe.
