Brussels, 30.04.2019. On May 6th Workero and Finnova Foundation will host the Proptech StartUp Europe Awards pitching session in Brussels, where more than 50 promising startups in innovation in real state from all over Europe and an international jury will highlight the relevance of the innovative PropTech industry. Apart from an exciting pitching session, the organizers will offer many workshops during the day in order to help startups apply for different subsidies in various EU funding programs, such as SME Instrument from Horizon 2020. 5 startups of the following 5 categories will be recognized in the event: Manage&Operate, Market, Invest, Plan&Build and Smart City&Live.

This category of SEUA, an initiative promoted by the European Commission and supported by the President of the Committee of the Regions, several members of the European Parliament and implemented by the Finnova Foundation in collaboration with Startup Europe, is led by Dirk PaelinckCEO of Workero and creator of the EU PropTech House, the alliance of Real State associations dedicated to promoting a sustainable European PropTech market by fostering innovation and public-private collaboration, as well as supporting new entrepreneurs. The aim of SEUA is to identify local models in every new business ecosystem in Europe.

On that day, 50 StartUps, previously selected by a jury composed of 45 judges from several European countries, will present a closed elevator pitch of their project live in front of the jury. The jury consists of CEOs, CFOs, Directors and other members of JLL, PWC, Innogy, Metrovacesa, BNP Paribas Real Estate, AG Real Estate, Deloite, Bexis, RICS and many more companies from the world of Real Estate and digital transformation. The jury’s mission will be to select 5 of the 50 participating StartUps to compete in the final of the awards, which will be held at MIPIM in Paris in July.

In addition to the elevator pitches, the day will have spaces enabled for networking and a workshop of the StartUp Europe Accelerator of the Finnova Foundation, organiser of the StartUp Europe Awards and expert in public funding of innovative projects, helping startups to obtain up to 2.5 million from the European Commission, on legal barriers in the European Union, mobility opportunities such as Erasmus for young entrepreneurs, funding opportunities such as open LIFE and advice on how to develop a successful proposal.

It is the first European initiative to give visibility and support to the most promising startups in innovation in real state. The PropTech StartUp Europe Awards is a brand new category within the StartUp Europe Awards’ framework (22 categories), promoted by the European Commission in collaboration with Finnova Foundation, which presents a prize methodology for startups at local, regional and national level, fostering the open innovation and the collaboration between the different actors of the European ecosystems, through the private-public partnership supporting new entrepreneurs.
