  • RES4CITY seeks to enhance the development of sustainable renewable energy and fuel technologies.

16/12/2024, Brussels. RES4CITY arrived at the II International Congress Startups Sevilla last Wednesday 11th December to analyse the developments in the PropTech sector. The Finnova Foundation organised the round table ‘PropTech: Sustainability and European Funds – RES4CITY’ to analyse the novelties offered by this industry, which is responsible for bringing together the latest developments in the real estate sector.

Finnova brought together several industry experts to give their views on the PropTech industry. Dirk Paelinck, President of the European PropTech Association, and Eli Kessler, CEO of Gateway Construction were the speakers who explained the situation and developments in PropTech.

The round table was moderated by Juan Manuel Revuelta, CEO of Finnova Foundation, and had the opportunity to present RES4CITY. In addition to the project, Revuelta also had the opportunity to present the functioning of several European funding programmes such as Horizon Europe, a programme that finances RES4CITY with a budget of €2.5 million.

The RES4CITY project aims to enhance the development of sustainable renewable energy and fuel technologies in cities, promoting sustainability and circularity. On the other hand, this initiative includes a free educational programme BoostMySkills to train the workforce in green transition.

RES4CITY’s micro-curricula and micro-credentials are online learning materials developed in collaboration with 8 European universities, with the aim of helping individuals and organisations to acquire knowledge on renewable energy and sustainable urban development. These courses are designed to provide practical knowledge and skills that can make a real difference in addressing sustainability challenges.

In addition, Finnova is co-leading the RES4CITY Global Reach Hub with Global Hope Network International (GHNI), United Nations Instituite for Training and Research (UNITAR), and WiTEC Sweden. It aims to establish a global network for public and private stakeholders to collaborate, share knowledge and drive towards net zero greenhouse gas emissions. Through its work, the hub will provide information on project developments and events where stakeholders can learn more about RES4CITY’s lines of action.
