RES4CITY launches its series of microprograms and microcredits to train the workforce in green transition

  • Through the RES4CITY BoostMySkills platform, the project offers a series of programs and micro-courses focused on sustainability.
  • These courses are developed under the leadership of 8 European partner universities.

02/12/2024, Brussels. The RES4CITY project, of which the Finnova Foundation is a partner, has launched a collection of micro-programs and micro-courses to train the working population in subjects related to the green transition and decarbonisation of cities. Thanks to these educational tools designed to accelerate and prepare for the future of sustainability careers or for employees to acquire the skills needed to drive organizations’ sustainability initiatives, this action will train 3,000 professionals globally.

The RES4CITY BoostMySkills platform already has 33 micro-credentials and two micro-programs (more to be released) focused on sustainability. Students can choose to register for a microprogram, where each microprogram consists of 10 micro-credentials, or enrol in the micro-credentials individually. The microprograms are designed to cover a wide range of renewable energy topics, while the micro-credentials are designed for those seeking to enhance specific competencies.

The courses have been developed by pan-European universities, fully funded by the EU and the Swiss Confederation, and supported by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). The University of Maynooth, the University of Halmstad, the University of Sassari, the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the University of Grenoble-Alpes, the University of Coimbra, the University of Naples Parthenope, the Technical University of Denmark and Artémat have been responsible for developing these educational tools.

Thanks to this platform, users can learn about aspects related to sustainability, energy innovation and the decarbonization of cities. Students will be able to acquire sufficient knowledge to be trained in green economy by obtaining this knowledge in a flexible and online way. The contents are focused on real projects and practical cases and are designed to develop solutions to today’s main environmental challenges.

Finnova, commitment to environmental education
