Valencia, July 9, 2025. The Finnova Foundation will organize the event “Sembrando Iniciativa: Workshop on Entrepreneurship and Social Economy”, to be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 10:30 to 14:00 (CEST), both in person and streamed live online. The event will take place at Banco Sabadell Hub Empresa in the Ensanche neighborhood of Valencia and is financed by the Integral Plan for the Promotion of the Social Economy 2024–2025, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, supported by European Next Generation EU funds.
Connecting entrepreneurship and diversity for an impactful economy
The event is part of the Sembrando Iniciativa project, a Finnova Foundationled initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and employment access among women, especially migrants in vulnerable situations, through training activities, professional networking spaces, and actions to highlight good practices in the social economy. In line with the objectives of the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE) for the Social Economy and Care, the event seeks to strengthen the role of women in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and showcase initiatives that drive territorial development through social innovation.
The event will open with Juan Manuel Revuelta, CEO of the Finnova Foundation, who will present the project’s goals and deliver an institutional welcome. Next, Dr. Zahoor Ahmed, Ambassador of Pakistan to Spain and Andorra, will deliver a talk focused on international cooperation, cultural diversity, and entrepreneurship as a tool to strengthen ties between migrant and local communities.
The second part of the event will address the situation of migrant women and cultural diversity within the context of social entrepreneurship. Dr. Malik Hammad Ahmad will speak on rights protection and education for peace, highlighting opportunities for the active inclusion of migrant women. Local institutional representatives will also participate, sharing public policies that support entrepreneurship and social inclusion at the municipal and regional levels.
During the coffee break, included with free registration, networking spaces will be available to foster connections and synergies among participants. The second half of the day will focus on practical tools for entrepreneurship. Lola Bordás, Marketing Director at the Finnova Foundation, will present key digital marketing strategies applied to female entrepreneurship in the social economy. Next, Salvador Ibáñez, a lawyer specializing in second chance opportunities, will explain the legal options available for women entrepreneurs facing over-indebtedness. This will be followed by Pilar de Llamas, an expert in circular economy, who will offer a session on sustainable entrepreneurship in the textile sector and present the Finnova Foundation’s “Next Textile” initiative.
To close the event, a women-led social economy organization will be presented, whose work serves as an inspiring example of best practices in social impact entrepreneurship and female leadership. This presentation will highlight the transformative role of initiatives driven by women in vulnerable contexts, concluding the event with a motivating and action-oriented perspective. The session will end with a Q&A and an open debate with the audience, fostering the exchange of ideas and experiences among participants and speakers.
