Brussels, April 11, 2025 – The “Rutas del Misterio” project, involving the Finnova Foundation, the Sustainable Tourism Cluster of Aragón (CSTA), and the company Play&Go, will create thematic tourist routes based on myths, legends, and local stories. The initiative is funded by the European Union through the Next Generation Programme within the framework of the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation (PERTE) of Social Economy and Care.
The project aims to promote innovative, digital, inclusive, and sustainable tourism, with a particular focus on women, unemployed youth, and people at risk of social exclusion, through geolocated itineraries and an interactive app.
The project will feature an interactive app developed by Play&Go, which will display the routes with maps, images, videos, virtual storytelling, quizzes, and content in multiple languages. Additionally, free online training will be available between May 20 and June 3 (6 hours total, 2 hours per week), supplemented with recorded resources and official certifications. Trained individuals will be able to become tourist guides and access mentoring opportunities. One of the project’s main goals is to train women, youth, and vulnerable individuals to become digital tourist guides, fostering entrepreneurship and employability in rural or tourism-potential areas. Participants will receive a diploma, which will be presented at a hybrid event on June 18, also featuring a networking session and certification ceremony.
Pilot routes are currently being designed in Aragón, Seville (Andalusia), and Valencia, with special attention to Jaén, Galicia, and Extremadura as areas with high potential for cultural tourism based on legends. Participation is open to any autonomous community interested. Entities submitting their itineraries will be included in a priority database for future European calls such as NextGenerationEU, Interreg, Erasmus+, and triangular cooperation programs with Latin America. They will also receive personalized alerts on funding for sustainable and innovative tourism, with the possibility of joining new projects as collaborating partners.
