  • Both projects aim to up-skill labour force in green transition through educational content
  • The event is intended to showcase innovative and sustainable projects and technology in an interactive setting that will unite professionals, policy makers and citizen groups

Brussels, 29/05/2025. The European Sustainable Energy Week 2025 Energy Fair will host a booth for RES4CITY and RESSKILL projects. Finnova Foundation, partner of both projects, will be in charge of the organization of the stand that will be available to visit from Tuesday, 10 June to Thursday, 12 June in the European Commission’s Charlemagne Building. In order to access to the fair, you can register through this link.

At the fair, representatives of Finnova will showcase the project RES4CITY, a project funded by the European Union via the Horizon Europe Programme, that aims to enhance the development of sustainable renewable energy and fuel technologies in cities by promoting sustainability and circularity and developing an innovative educational programme. The project is currently in its final phase and will participate in the fair to promote the BoostMySkills platform, which offers micro-credentials and micro-programmes designed to train the active population in the green transition. In addition, other products developed during the project will also be disseminated, such as the RES4CITY Policy Brief (a set of recommendations developed by the project partners) and the RES4CITY Open Innovation Book (a summary of the RES4CITY Startup Europe Accelerathon competition, led by Finnova).

The project is backed by a consortium of 18 members from 8 European countries, and Switzerland, and counts with €2.5 million from the Horizon Programme and the Swiss Confederation. Additionally, the representatives will showcase SHERLOCK, RES4CITY’s sister project, dedicated to equipping professionals from building energy retrofitting and financial sectors with green and digital skills crucial for success in the energy efficiency investment sector.

Furthermore, the project LIFE RESSKILL, funded by the EU’s LIFE Programme, will also be exhibited at the stand. RESSKILL’s mission is to up-skill the workforce in renewable energy system integration and digitalisation within the building sector. Following the same path of RES4CITY, LIFE RESSKILL will achieve this goal though the promotion of educational content by incorporating AI for skill identification, micro-credentials for expertise validation and gamification for an engaging learning experience. The project counts with a a budget of over €1.5 million and a duration of 36 months, led by Università degli Studi di Genova and supported by a consortium of 10 institutions and companies across Europe.

The EUSEW and its Energy Fair are a vital platform for promoting Europe’s green transition by connecting pioneering initiatives with key stakeholders. Projects like RES4CITY, SHERLOCK, and RESSKILL embody the collaborative and cross-sectoral approach that the week champions, offering scalable solutions and educational tools to empower both today’s workforce and the next generation of green professionals. By contributing to the dialogue and knowledge exchange at EUSEW 2025, these initiatives reinforce their commitment to shaping a resilient, decarbonised Europe.
