Finnova leads 5G-DiGITs communication in Dublin and takes part in the project’s first Brokerage Event

The foundation presented WP6 progress and contributed to debates on innovation, cybersecurity and smart cities within the European 5G ecosystem.

Brussels, 3 June 2025 – The Finnova Foundation played a key role in the advancement of the 5G-DiGITs project during the second in-person consortium meeting held on 26–27 May in Dublin, alongside the “Brokerage Event in Dublin”, a public forum attended by nearly 50 participants.

As leader of Work Package 6 – Dissemination and Exploitation, Finnova was represented by Yolanda Durán, Communications Officer, and Carmen Mena, Project Officer. Yolanda presented updates on the project’s communication strategy, dissemination materials, KPI tracking, and the upcoming July newsletter. Carmen provided technical and logistical support for consortium coordination.

The Brokerage Event featured a project presentation by Felipe Taylor Murta (F6S), followed by a roundtable with experts including Alison McMurtrie (FinTech consultant), Gerry McKenna (tech executive), Elaine Burke (technology journalist), and Joe Coolican (telecom expert). Key topics included the evolution from smart cities to smart countries, communication security, modular infrastructure, local vs global impact, and the role of adaptive research.

5G-DiGITs is a project funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission, with a total budget of €1,745,421 and a duration of 36 months. Its goal is to enhance digital and green skills through collaborative and innovative educational programmes adapted to the European context. The results of this project could serve as inspiration for new initiatives linked to the European Green Deal and INVEST EU, fostering cooperation between SMEs from the European Union and Latin America in the digital and sustainable fields, through pilot projects of up to €400,000.
