07/04/2025, Brussels. The Finnova Foundation attended the 16th BUILD UP Skills European Exchange Meeting on April 2–3, the annual gathering of European projects and stakeholders in the construction value chain. Juanma Revuelta, CEO of the Foundation, and Jon Larratxea, Communication Officer for both the Foundation and LIFE RESSKILL, represented the project alongside Project Coordinator Mattia de Rosa (University of Genoa) and Strategic Designer Marta Arniani (Three O’clock). This year, over 80 stakeholders and representatives of European projects gathered in Brussels (Belgium) to discuss the state of the art in energy efficiency and renewable energies in the building sector and to explore recent developments.

On the first day of the meeting, Mattia de Rosa presented the project during a poster session as one of the new initiatives joining the BUILD UP community. De Rosa briefly explained the project’s main objectives, its current status, and the roadmap moving forward.

On the second day, experts from the European Commission shared the latest updates on policies and legislation in this field, introducing the BUILD UP Skills Community of Practice. Additionally, LIFE RESSKILL participated in parallel sessions focused on the implementation of national roadmaps, skill development, and training related to heat pump technologies.

During their time in Brussels, Finnova had the opportunity to learn firsthand about initiatives supported under the BUILD UP Skills umbrella, of which LIFE RESSKILL is a part. Several next steps for the project were also agreed upon, including the finalization of communication and dissemination elements.

This exchange meeting aimed to strengthen the European dimension of BUILD UP and to facilitate the transfer of technical knowledge and expertise developed by national BUILD UP Skills consortia. Such knowledge sharing enables the upskilling of construction professionals and fosters collaboration and innovation among stakeholders.

As a partner of LIFE RESSKILL, the Finnova Foundation is committed to continuous learning and workforce training in areas that support environmental protection. The Foundation takes pride in being part of initiatives aligned with the values of the LIFE programme, the European Union’s financial instrument exclusively dedicated to the environment and climate action.
