Finnova will lead the communication and dissemination actions of the RESSKILL project

  • This project helps train the working population in sustainability, focusing on the integration of energy systems and the digitalization of buildings and districts.
  • This project continues the RES4CITY project, of which Finnova is also a partner.

02/01/2025, Brussels. Finnova Foundation attended the kick-off meeting of theRESSKILL project, a pioneering project in workforce training for workers specialized in energy systems integration and digitalization of buildings and districts. This meeting, organized by the University of Genoa (Italy), shared the first steps of the project, which officially started last December 1st.

The Finnova Foundation will lead the communication and dissemination tasks of RESSKILL. Through these functions, Finnova will expand the visibility of the project, raising awareness of its learning initiatives and tools, thus encouraging wider adoption and replication of the project’s methodology. Finnova will report on project developments to stakeholders, ensuring that RESSKILL findings and results are optimally utilized by a broad spectrum of participants and demographic groups across the EU.

This project is the continuation of RES4CITY, another European project focused on decarbonizing urban areas and improving the skills of the workforce for the ecological transition. Finnova has been a partner of this initiative disseminating the main action lines of the project and organizing the RES4CITY STARTUP EUROPE ACCELERATHON, an open ideas competition on various challenges such as green hydrogen production, electric mobility, land management or grey water revalorization. Thanks to Finnova’s good work in RES4CITY, we have managed to be part of RESSKILL, which will use the tools and results extracted from RES4CITY.

RESSKILL is a three-year project that will train professionals with a specific focus on energy systems integration and digitization of buildings and districts. RESSKILL will develop micro-credentials, which provide tangible validation to trainees, and ensure the alignment of these courses with industry standards.

The consortium is made up of 10 partners from 6 European Union countries. Led by the University of Genoa and with a budget of €1.5 million, the project has as partners the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli and Artemat (Italy), Maynooth University and IKIM (Ireland), the Technical University of Crete and the European Institute of Education and Teaching (Greece), the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), Three O’Clock (France) and Finnovaregio (Belgium).

RESKILL receives its funding through the LIFE program, the only EU funding program entirely dedicated to environmental, climate and energy objectives. It contributes to the shift towards a clean, circular, energy efficient, climate neutral and climate resilient economy, including through the transition to clean energy, to protect and improve the quality of the environment.
