Finnova will present opportunities to access funding from the European Union at the XXIII ECOPLAYAS Congress

Juanma Revuelta, CEO of Finnova, will present the European projects, LIFE COSTAdapta and One Blue, in the masterclass on the challenges of the EU 2030 funds

The Finnova Foundation will actively participate in the XXIII ECOPLAYAS 2025 Congress. Juanma Revuelta, CEO of the Finnova Foundation, will give a masterclass on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., entitled “Challenge of EU 2030 funds for sustainability in coastal municipalities: LIFE COSTADAPTA and ONE BLUE”.

During his speech, he will share European funding opportunities to promote the conservation and sustainable management of coastlines. Successful projects such as LIFE COSTAdapta, which implements innovative solutions to adapt coasts to climate change, and One Blue, which promotes the blue economy and protects marine ecosystems, will be presented.

The XXIII ECOPLAYAS Congress is the main event for the sustainable management of coasts and beaches. This meeting provides a technical and global vision on all aspects related to the world of beaches, with a focus on the preservation of their health, the promotion of responsible tourism and public awareness.

Over the course of three days, experts, practitioners and policymakers will discuss key aspects of sustainable coastal management. The congress will also address the challenges of the application of the Coastal Law and the use of new technologies in the design and equipment of beaches.

About LIFE COSTAdapta

LIFE COSTAdapta focuses on adapting the coast of Gran Canaria to the rise in sea level through an innovative system of reef-tidal pools. With a budget of 3,409,864 EUR and a duration of 7 years, LIFE COSTAdapta is coordinated by the Insular Energy Council of Gran Canaria (CIEGC) and has the participation of the Insular Energy Council of Gran Canaria together with the ULPGC, the University of Cantabria, INGECID, Raley Coastal Studies, ECOncrete AQUA, the Canary Islands Foundation for Recycling and Sustainable Development (FCR) and includes universities and specialized entities.

About One Blue

ONE-BLUE is a research initiative funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, with a budget of more than €6,200,000. Its objective is to investigate the impact of emerging pollutants and the effects of climate change on marine biodiversity, contributing to the preservation of aquatic ecosystems. The project is led by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), which has three of its institutes within the leadership of the consortium: the Institute for Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC), the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC) and the Institute of Physical and Information Technologies (ITEFI-CSIC).
