- The Greencities & S-Moving Startup Europe Awards (SEUA) is looking for entrepreneurs with ideas and projects that provide solutions to the challenges of sustainable mobility, circular economy and energy efficiency in cities.
- The deadline to apply is August 25, 2023.
- The winner will benefit from a European acceleration ticket, based on mentoring, visibility and support to turn their proposal into projects with European funding.
The Greencities and S-Moving Startup Europe Awards (SEUA) call for entries invites entrepreneurs and visionaries from across Europe to participate in order to raise awareness of their projects and stand out in the industry. This initiative seeks to recognize and reward the most outstanding ideas and projects that are driving innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of circular economy, sustainable mobility and the fight against climate change in an urban environment.
Promoted by the European Commission and implemented by the Finnova Foundation in collaboration with FYCMA, the SEUA offer a unique platform for entrepreneurs to present their projects and connect with investors, entrepreneurs and industry leaders.
They also provide an invaluable opportunity to access resources, support programs and visibility at the European level.
Who can participate?
SMEs, corporations, startups, scale-ups, spin-offs, universities, students and anyone interested in entrepreneurship, who develop their activity or belong to sectors related to mobility and circular economy and who can provide innovative solutions to the proposed challenges.
Challenges of mobility and circular economy
Greencities and S-Moving SEUA want to locate those ideas, initiatives or projects that offer products, services or methodologies that are committed to innovation in the field of circular economy and sustainable mobility by responding to the following challenges divided into two categories:

- Use of Biogas as an alternative and energy decarbonization process in tourist mobility.
- Use of Biogas as a decarbonization process in the public transport system.
- “Km0” or “Food Miles” to take advantage of the products generated in each territory in a sustainable way.

- Valorization of textile waste generated by the HORECA sector for its use in a circular system.
- Valorization of organic waste generated by the HORECA sector and promotion of its circular implementation.
- “Promotion of energy efficiency in cities through the use of renewable energies to mitigate climate change.

The challenges posed for this call are particularly related to three projects in which the Finnova Foundation collaborates: LIFE ECODIGESTION 2. 0, focusing on technology that automates the digesters of sewage treatment plants to convert organic waste from landfills into biogas, Hub Iberia Agrotech (HIBA), of the Interreg Spain – Portugal (POCTEP) program to promote an ecosystem and Agro digitization from a Digital Innovation Hubs Network (DIHs) and RES4CITY, which promotes the development of sustainable energy and fuel technologies in cities through various innovative educational programs.
Competition prize: European acceleration ticket
A committee of experts will assess and evaluate the proposals submitted based on viability, response to the challenges posed, internationalization & investment, innovation and feasibility of the business model.
Successful candidates will benefit from a European acceleration ticket that offers a training and mentoring program by Startup Europe Accelerator to access European funds (LIFE, EIT, among others), legal advice, networking and international communication, among other benefits.
The awards will be presented in the framework of Greencities & S-Moving to be held on 20 and 21 September 2022 in Fycma-Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga.
