Finnova, together with the municipality of Pechevo, will hold next Tuesday, 22nd November, the hybrid event: “Exchange of experiences in firefighting” to promote the analysis of opportunities, disseminate the project and generate the exchange of knowledge, skills and resources that promote good practices in the fight against fires. The event will be one of the strategies that will present the project after six months of work on FIPAS, a forest fire prediction alarm system through Artificial Intelligence, led by Nassat and developed within the framework of EIT Climate-KIC, a European community that supports innovative initiatives that help to combat climate change and mitigate the effects of global warming.

FIPAS has a total budget of 144,500 euros, 80 % funded by the EIT Climate-KIC. During the last six months, the project partners have been working on the progress of a set of solutions to detect the probability of fire danger in real-time, as well as the actions that can be taken to reduce it with Artificial Intelligence as the main tool.

The event will be attended by several relevant actors in the development of this project and it will consist of two blocks. The first, of an institutional nature, will include a representative of each FIPAS partner, who will present the latest advances and main conclusions of the project. The second block, dedicated to the field experience, will include interventions by the Department of Sustainability, Environment and Blue Economy of the Andalusian Regional Government, which will present the European projects Interreg CILIFO, FIREPOCTEP and the INFOCA plan.
