• The “Rutas del Misterio” project turns local legends into job opportunities for vulnerable groups. Technology, training, and territory come together to promote sustainable development.

Brussels, 27 May 2025 – The Finnova Foundation will take part in the international congress on sustainable tourism, innovation, and entrepreneurship to be held on 27 and 28 May in Mondariz (Pontevedra), Galicia. The central moment of the event will be the intervention of its CEO, Juanma Revuelta, who will present the European project “Rutas del Misterio” in a keynote entitled “Connecting Entrepreneurial Ecosystems”, on 28 May from 18:30 to 19:00.

During his speech, Revuelta will address how social economy, digitalisation, and sustainability are transforming tourism and opening up new opportunities for employability and innovation, especially for young people, women, and individuals at risk of social exclusion.

This hybrid event, supported by Galicia Tourism and UN Tourism, will bring together international experts, young leaders, educational institutions, and key sector stakeholders over two days to discuss and collaborate on the trends shaping the future of sustainable tourism.

Rutas del Misterio: Tourism Innovation with social impact

Promoted by Finnova, the Sustainable Tourism Cluster of Aragón (TSAC), and the tech company Play&Go, the “Rutas del Misterio” project is funded by the European Union through the Next Generation Programme under the PERTE for the Social Economy and Care.

The initiative proposes geolocated tourist routes based on legends and local stories, accessible through an interactive app with multilingual digital content. It also includes free training with official certification, aimed at unemployed or vulnerable individuals to train them as digital tour guides and foster their insertion into the tourism sector.

The congress will also serve as the closing platform for this training, featuring a diploma award ceremony and a networking session to highlight the social and economic transformation promoted by the project.

Throughout the congress, key topics will be addressed, such as female and youth entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence and ethics, immersive tourism and cultural experiences, international cooperation networks, and emerging trends like gamification and sports as a tourism driver.

Workshops, participatory dynamics, and applied training activities will round out a programme designed to generate real synergies between students, professionals, institutions, and companies from Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
