Los jóvenes que recibieron los segundos premios del proyecto Talent Factory junto al director del programa, Juan Castilla, profesores, mentores y patrocinadores iniciaron una visita en Bruselas el pasado 10 de julio que incluyó una parada en la sede de la Fundación Finnova, donde su director Juanma Revuelta les presentó el programa StartUp Europe Accelerator, la única aceleradora especializada en las oportunidades que ofrece Europa para los emprendedores innovadores.

El proyecto Talent Factory, promovido por los ayuntamientos de Gavà y Viladecans, está dirigido a todos los alumnos de 4º de la ESO, bachillerato y ciclos formativos de ambos municipios. Es un proyecto que tiene como finalidad sacar a la luz el talento emprendedor de los alumnos de las localidades participantes y propiciar el espíritu empresarial de los jóvenes, así como fomentar el conocimiento de la empresa y aportar competencias que les aproximen a la cultura emprendedora y a los futuros proyectos que pretendan desarrollar.

El Director General de la Fundación Finnova, Juanma Revuelta, ofreció al grupo una charla sobre las diferentes herramientas que ofrece Europa para impulsar proyectos innovadores como el Instrumento PYME, y además presentó la iniciativa StartUp Europe Awards, organizada conjuntamente con la Comisión Europea. “Necesitamos más proyectos como Talent Factory que impulsen a los jóvenes a desarrollar proyectos innovadores que resuelvan los retos a los que se enfrenta Europa y  sus respectivos territorios”, concluyó Juanma Revuelta.

La responsable de proyecto europeos de Finnova, Ana Nava,  presentó a los jóvenes el proyecto H2020 Nobel Grid como tractor de startups en el campo de las smart grids y otras iniciativas en el campo de la sostenibilidad.

Por otro lado, el director de la startup Astronical Spaces Industries (Fabricación 3D), Juan Besari, contó a los jóvenes su experiencia como emprendedor en el programa StartUp Europe Accelerator de Finnova y les ofreció algunos consejos como: “no dejéis de estudiar por emprender. Yo nunca lo dejé y creo que es importante saber compaginar ambas cosas”, aseguró.

El grupo de Talent Factory acudió también junto al director de la Fundación Finnova a Microsoft Innovation Center, donde les fueron presentados los distintos proyectos que ofrece el MIC para emprendedores digitales, en relación a startups y nuevas ideas de negocio. Programas como “Step UP!”, para start-ups más maduras, y “Call for it projects”; “Hackathon”, un encuentro durante un fin de semana para desarrollar las ideas en equipo; y “Microsoft Bizspark”, enfocado a startups con menos de 5 años de vida para ayudarles a desarrollar su idea de negocio y crecer. Recibieron además una ponencia por parte de uno de los ganadores del “Boost Camp”, quien contó su idea y la experiencia como parte del proyecto del centro de innovación de Microsoft.

Al término de esta jornada, el grupo disfrutó de una cena debate organizada con la colaboración de Finnova, que contó con la presencia de Massimiliano Dragoni, de la DG CNECT y Andrea Gerosa, fundador de Think Young.

La intensa agenda de los jóvenes emprendedores en Bruselas incluyó también una visita a la sede de Cámara España, donde les recibió su delegado, Héctor Benitez.

La visita de este grupo de emprendedores fue apoyada por el eurodiputado Francesc Gambús, quien acompañó a los jóvenes en un recorrido por el Parlamento Europeo.

The young winners of the second prize of Talent Factory project along with the director of the programme, Juan Castilla, and other teachers, mentors and sponsors started their visit to Brussels last 10th July. The visit included a stop in the headquarters of Finnova Foundation, where the director, Juanma Revuelta, introduced them to the StartUp Europe Accelerator programme, the only accelerator specialized in the opportunities that Europe offers to innovative entrepreneurs.

The Talent Factory project, promoted by the town halls of Gavà and Viladecans, is oriented to all those students at high school and vocational training from these two municipalities. This project aims to bring out the entrepreneurial talent of the students and to foster the business spirit among young people. It also looks to encourage student to know about the enterprise world, to add competences to their training that can approach them to the entrepreneurial culture and projects that could be developed in the future.

Juanma Revuelta, Director General of Finnova Foundation, delivered a talk about the different tools Europe offers to Foster new innovative projects like SME Instrument. Besides, he presented the StartUp Europe Awards initiative, co-organised with the European Commission. ‘We need more projects like Talent Factory. Projects that can encourage young people to develop innovative projects that could solve the challenges Europe and their territories may face’, stated Juanma Revuelta.

Ana Nava, in charge of Finnova’s European projects section, presented the H2020 Nobel Grid project as the driving force of startups in the area of smart grids, and other initiatives in the sphere of sustainability.

Additionally, Juan Besari, Director of the startup Astronical Spaces Industries (3D production), share with the young students his experience as entrepreneur in the StartUp Europe Accelerator programme of Finnova and gave some advice like: “Never quit studying because you want to be an entrepreneur. I never did so and I think it is important to know how to balance both things”, he assured.

The Talent Factory group went along with Finnova Foundation’s director to Microsoft Innovation Centre, were they were shown different projects that MIC is offering to digital entrepreneurs, related to startups and new business lines. Programmes like “Step UP!” for startups with a longer trajectory, and “Call for IT projects”. They underlined initiatives like “Hackathon”, a gathering during a weekend to ideas with team dynamics, and Microsoft BizSpark, oriented to young startups, with less than 5 years of life, to help them develop and grow their business idea.

A winner of “Boost Camp” offered a presentation for the young students. He told them about his idea and his experience working in a project of the MIC. In the evening, they attended a debate-dinner organised by Finnova in which Massimiliano Dragoni, from DG CONNECT and Andrea Gerosa, founder of Think Young, were present.

The intense agenda of the young entrepreneurs in Brussels also included a visit to the Commerce Chamber of Spain, where the delegate Héctor Benítez received them. The visit to Brussels was supported by the MEP Francesc Gambús, who accompanied the young students in a tour around the European Parliament.

• El Comité Europeo de las Regiones eligió en su 124ª sesión plenaria a las regiones ganadoras de los European Entrepreneurial Region (EER) Awards 2018: Macedonia Central (Grecia), Región Noroeste de Irlanda e Île de France.
• StartUp Europe Awards 2017 abre su convocatoria para buscar Country Managers, Media Partners y Embajadores para sus premios, hasta el próximo 30 de julio.

Bruselas, 12 de julio. La fundación Finnova asistió a la 124ª sesión plenaria del Comité Europeo de las Regiones (CdR) donde se nombró a Karl-Heinz Lambertz como Presidente y Markku Markkula como Vicepresidente de la institución. El Comisario de Investigación, Ciencia e Innovación, Carlos Moedas, inauguró la sesión plenaria, tras la cual se dio paso a la ceremonia de los premios European Entrepreneurial Region (EER), donde L’Ile de France, Región de Macedonia y Región del Noroeste de Irlanda se alzaron con la victoria.

Esta sesión, que se celebró como ocasión especial en el Parlamento Europeo, se abrió con el proceso de selección y votación del Presidente del Comité, cargo que recayó sobre el belga Karl-Heinz Lambertz. En su discurso inicial destacó la importancia de las regiones en la construcción de una Europa sólida: “Las regiones con éxito son aquellas que están fuertemente arraigadas pero ampliamente conectadas”

El presidente saliente y actual vicepresidente del CdR, Markku Markkula, expuso los puntos fuertes de su mandato y recordó que “nuestro trabajo por mejorar la regulación y simplificar el uso de los fondos europeos ha tenido mucho éxito hasta ahora. Pero una Europa conectada va más allá, pasa por conectar a su gente, sus ideas y sus recursos a lo largo de Europa”.

El Comisario de Investigación, Ciencia e Innovación, Carlos Moedas, inauguró la sesión plenaria con un discurso en el que llamó a centrar esfuerzos en “crear un presupuesto sólido para la ciencia europea” y  protagonizó un debate con los miembros del CdR sobre el papel del organismo en la innovación y la ciencia.

El Director General de la Fundación Finnova, Juanma Revuelta, tuvo la oportunidad de asistir al proceso de votación y transmitirle su enhorabuena al recién elegido presidente, con quien se reunió el día de antes con motivo de la visita del Vicepresidente de la Diputación de Alicante, Adrián Ballester. Un encuentro que permitió dar a conocer las iniciativas de esta provincia a nivel europeo.

Durante el pleno, los miembros del CdR trataron temas relacionados con el desarrollo de las regiones, las políticas de agricultura y pesca o la inmigración, e hicieron mención especial a las contribuciones sobre las pymes,  las políticas europeas y la importancia de las empresas emergentes en el ecosistema emprendedor europeo y las iniciativas para que aumenten su presencia.

Revuelta elogió la labor del CdR: “Felicito la visión del CdR de celebrar los premios a las regiones emprendedoras (EER) en uno de sus plenos más importantes y la vocación política por promover la innovación en el sector público. Es gratificante ver que el Comisario Moedas está presente en el pleno.”

Tras la sesión plenaria, el CdR entregó los premios EER Awards, que reconocen las mejores estrategias de las regiones de Europa para apoyar la creación de un sólido tejido de emprendimiento. Este año se alzaron con la victoria las regiones de L’Ile de France, Noroeste de Irlanda y Macedonia Central (Grecia).

Revuelta se entrevistó con los dirigentes de las regiones ganadoras para invitarles a incorporar en su estrategia de región emprendedora la metodología de Open Innovation con los premios StartUp Europe Awards 2017, que promueven y reconocen emprendedores de excelencia en toda Europa. Esta iniciativa implementada por Finnova en colaboración con Startup Europe, está promovida por la Comisión Europea y cuenta en su segunda edición con el apoyo de varios miembros del Parlamento Europeo, como embajadores del concurso.

StartUp Europe Awards presenta una metodología de premios en 5 niveles: municipal, local, regional y nacional, que confluyen en una entrega de premios a nivel europeo, es por ello que es conocido como el Eurovisión de las startups. Esta estructura busca fomentar la innovación abierta, es decir, la colaboración entre diferentes actores de ecosistemas europeos, a través del partenariado público-privado para apoyar a los emprendedores.

Para su edición del 2017, StartUp Europe Awards reconoce el esfuerzo de las startups en 18 categorías: Creative, Energy, Fintech, Green, e-Health, IoT, Smart Cities, Social Innovation, Tourism, Water, Agritech, Legal, Space, Cybersecurity, Climate, Fashion, Edtech and Gastronomy. Además, se añaden cuatro reconocimientos especiales este año: Mejor Administración Pública para las startups, Mejor Media Partner, Mejor StartUp Latinoamericana y Mejor Emprendedora.

Esta iniciativa cuenta, además, con una Alianza que busca reunir a los organizadores de diferentes premios para startups en Europa, como aceleradoras, incubadoras, universidades, fundaciones o asociaciones de business angels, a lo largo de Europa, para crear un foro donde intercambiar buenas prácticas y hacer contactos que creen un fuerte ecosistema.

Convocatoria abierta SEUA17

StartUp Europe Awards 2017 lanza su convocatoria para buscar Country Managers, Media Partners y Embajadores para sus premios hasta el próximo 30 de julio. El concurso busca figuras que apoyen a los emprendedores de toda la Unión Europea: los Country Managers ayudan a organizar la ceremonia por categorías en sus respectivos países conformando el grupo de ganadores que participarán en la final europea. Los Media Partners se encargan de dar visibilidad a los participantes a lo largo de su recorrido durante los premios, ofreciendo un seguimiento de los participantes desde su país de origen hasta la final a nivel europeo. Finalmente, los Embajadores son miembros del Parlamento Europeo que se comprometen a desarrollar los valores de emprendimiento e innovación trayendo la voz de los emprendedores locales a las instituciones europeas.

Finnova attends the naming of the new president of the Committee of the Regions, Karl-Heinz Lambertz

Brussels, 12^th July. Finnova Foundation attended the 124^th plenary session of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) where Karl-Heinz Lambertz was elected President and Markku Markkula Vice-president of the institution.  The Commissioner of Research, Science and Innovation, Carlos Moedas, inaugurated the plenary session, which was followed by the ceremony of the European Entrepreneurial Region (EER) awards, in which Île de France, Central Macedonia (Greece) and Northern and Western Region of Ireland were appointed as winners.

In this session, celebrated as a special occasion in the European Parliament, was opened with the selection and voting process of the President of the Committee, a post that went for the Belgian Karl-Heinz Lambertz. In his introductory speech he remarked the importance of the regions in order to build a solid Europe: “The successful regions are those deeply rooted by widely connected”.

The outgoing president, and current vice-president of the CoR, Markku Markkula, presented the strong points of his mandate and reminded that “our work to improve the regulation and simplify the use of European funds has been a success until now. But a connected Europe goes beyond, it needs to connect the people, their ideas and their resources along Europe”.

The Commissioner of Research, Science and Innovation, Carlos Moedas, inaugurated the plenary session with a speech in which he asked to join forces to “create a solid budget for the European science” and led a debate with the members of the CoR about the role of the organisation in innovation and science.

The General Director of Finnova Foundation, Juanma Revuelta, could attend the process of voting and congratulated the newly-elected president, they met the previous day on the occasion of the visit of the Vice-president of Diputación de Alicante, Adrián Ballester. In the meeting, initiatives of this province at European levels were discussed.

During the plenary session, the members of the CoR addressed different issues related to the development of the regions, policies of agriculture and fishery or the immigration, they made special mention to the contributions about SME’s, the European policies relevant to the area and the importance of startups in the European entrepreneurial ecosystem and the initiatives that fosters their presence.

Revuelta praised the work of the CoR: “I congratulate the vision of the CoR to celebrate the awards for the Entrepreneurial Regions (EER) in one of their most important plenary sessions along with the political vocation of this organisation to promote the innovation in the public sector. It is gratifying to see that the Commissioner Moedas is also present in the session”.

After the plenary session, the CoR delivered the EER Awards, which recognise the best strategies of the European regions to support the creation of a solid network of entrepreneurship. This year the winners were Île de France, Northern and Western region of Ireland and Central Macedonia (Greece).

Revuelta had an interviewed with the main figures of the winning regions and invited them to incorporate in their strategy as entrepreneurial region the Open Innovation methodology with the StartUp Europe Awards 2017, which promote and recognise excellence in entrepreneurs all around Europe. This initiative implemented by Finnova in collaboration with StartUp Europe, is promoted by the European Commission and has, in its second edition, with the support of several members of the European Parliament, as ambassadors of the contest.

StartUp Europe Awards presents a methodology of prizes at 5 levels: municipal, local, regional and national, which converge in an awards ceremony at European level, that is why they are known as the Eurovision for startups. This structure aims to foster the open innovation, that is, the collaboration between different actors of the European ecosystems, through the public-private partnership to support entrepreneurs.

Open call for SEUA17

StartUp Europe Awards 2017 launches its call for Country Managers, Media Partners and Ambassadors for the contests until next 30^th July. The contest aims to look for figure that could support the entrepreneurs of the European Union: Country managers help organise the ceremony by categories in their respective countries, creating the pool of winners that will participate in the European final. Media Partners are in charge of providing visibility to the participants along their path in the awards, offering a follow-up of the participants from their country to the final at European level. Finally, the ambassadors are members of the European Parliament that commit themselves to develop the values of entrepreneurship and innovation by bringing the voice of local entrepreneurs to the European institutions.
